1951, the relationship between Fernando Wong and
agriculture began, when he started sowing the first
mandarin plantations in the Huaral Valley about
100Km north of Lima. Later on, in 1985 he started
his export activities when he founded SUNSHINE EIRL
(later, the name was changed to Sunshine Export
S.A.C.) a company which has become one of the largest
agro-exporters in the country.
Through the years SUNSHINE has exported citrus
fruits, figs, cucumbers, cantaloupes, onions,
melons and since 1991 mangoes. Mango is currently
our primary export product, an activity which
lprovides employment to more than 1,000 people.
Nowadays SUNSHINE exports more than 6,500 metric
tons of fresh mangoes to diverse markets such
as The United States, Canada, England, Italy,
France, Spain, The Netherlands and Hong Kong.
The raw material comes from our own farms, from
small and medium-sized producers organized in
productive chains.
